Article: Centro Hispano going Strong at 50, JSonline September 2014 - Now marking its 50th anniversary, Centro Hispano is the oldest Latino social service agency in Milwaukee. With a budget of $8 million and a staff of 140, the center provides services to 20,000 individuals a year in 18 locations. It's the only dual-language Head Start program in the state. That means that students are instructed in English and Spanish on different days, so that they learn in both languages, instead of transitioning from Spansih to English in third of fourth grade, said Tony Baez Ph D, Executive Director of Centro Hispano.
Centro Hispano has been providing services to the underserved populations of Milwaukee since 1964.
